Sedentarismo amenaza silente en el accidente cerebrovascular isquémico-ACV

Resumen

Entre las principales causas de muerte a nivel mundial se encuentran la Cardiopatía Isquemia (IC) y el Accidente Cerebrovascular (ACV), teniendo en cuenta que ambas patologías comparten factores de riesgo, los estudios Interheart y el Interstroke muestran que estos factores pueden proporcionan un odds ratio diferente para el ACV y que la mayoría son modificables, destacando la falta de actividad física.

Este último ha cobrado gran importancia por los beneficios demostrados en el pre y post ACV de cualquier individuo, sin importar su raza, etnia o sexo, por lo anterior se debe establecer el impacto de disminuir el sedentarismo y aumentar el tiempo, frecuencia e intensidad de la actividad física que la población sana y personas con antecedente de ictus deben tener, con el fin de implementarlo en la práctica clínica y mejorar su salud cerebrovascular.
