Dolor crónico posquirúrgico en población pediátrica: revisión sistemática de la literatura

El dolor crónico como secuela de intervenciones quirúrgicas en edad pediátrica se define como la persistencia de dolor en el sitio del procedimiento por más de tres meses, con una intensidad moderada o severa. Representa un problema creciente debido a su notable prevalencia posterior a procedimientos relativamente comunes en la infancia y al impacto que genera en la calidad de vida del paciente. En este artículo se presenta una revisión sistemática de la prevalencia del dolor crónico postquirúrgico, los principales procedimientos asociados a esta secuela, su impacto en la calidad de vida y su relación con el enfoque paliativo como recurso potencial para mejorar los desenlaces.
