Controversias entre la anestesia raquídea y epidural en la reparación de hernias inguinales y femorales, una revisión sistemática de la literatura
Keywords:
Inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia.Abstract
Inguinal and femoral hernia repair is one of the most frequently performed procedures on an outpatient basis, reporting approximately 20 million procedures annually. For this intervention, international Hernia Surge guidelines have been established, published in 2018 and updated in 2020 by the European Hernia Society (EHS), even so, deviations were evident in decision-making by health professionals for the treatment of patients
influenced by autonomous decisions based on experience and access to resources, which is why the evaluation of postoperative outcomes will be of vital importance for decision-making regarding the type of anesthesia and surgical technique, taking into account indications and contraindications of each of them. This systematic review aims to evaluate the outcomes of epidural and spinal anesthesia
applied in open Lichtenstein and laparoscopic herniorrhaphy techniques such as Totally Extraperitoneal (TEP) and Transabdominal Pre-Peritoneal (TAPP) in order to obtain better outcomes for patients.
