Urethral stricture is a disorder that directly affects the genitourinary system with an established number of clinical manifestations, which accompanied by an adequate history and approach allows an accurate diagnosis. Although it is true that this pathology could be suspected only with the anamnesis, it is necessary to perform multiple clinical tests to corroborate the diagnosis, the anatomical site affected and the degree of stenosis. In this way, a better treatment therapy can be defined based on the findings (which part of the urethra is affected, what percentage of the lumen is compromised) and the patient’s own characteristics (genitourinary surgical history, tolerability of surgical procedures). Emphasis will be placed on pharmacological and surgical treatment lines.
