Abstract

To diagnose a postsurgical complication, it is important to know the antecedents such as the type of operation, the indication for surgery, the operating room time, and the presence of comorbidities. All this information helps to identify and characterize the possible complications to be diagnosed. In this way, it will be useful to look at the individual risk characterization and discuss with the surgeon about the most appropriate plan for the patient. Most complications such as surgical wound infection, abscess, active bleeding, hematoma or anastomotic leak, paralytic ileus, will be the focus of discussion throughout this systematic review of the literature focused on why and why. why and how to avoid these events for the patient. In the same way, a concept of damage intervention arises in the field of action, which broadly and precisely sets out the different circumstances that the surgical team faces in their day-to-day life.[3]
