Abstract

Melanoma continúes to be that skin Cancer, extensive related to sun exposure, either by
continuos exposure (for example, people who work outdoors in areas of sun exposure,
such as the countryside) or by intermittent exposures ( sunburn on the beach, pool, or
anywhere when sunbathing, for example). There is also a greater risk of melanoma in
people who use artificial UV cabinets, 90% appear on the skin and 75-85% of them do
not have the previous appearance of a mole. According to data from the Spanish Society
of Medical Oncology (SEOM), in Spain about 6,179 new cases of skin melanoma are
diagnosed per year. It is one of the tumors that is increasing the most in incidence in the
West, probably due to sun exposure habits (1).
By 2021, the American Cancer Society estimates indicate that approximately 106,110
new cases of melanoma will be diagnosed (about 62,260 in men and 43,850 in women).
And It is estimated that approximately 7,180 people (4,600 men and 2,580 women)
due to melanoma. the incidence of melanoma is more than 20 times higher in whites
than in blacks. Overall, the lifetime risk of melanoma is approximately 2.6% (1 in 38) for
Caucasians, 0.1% (1 in 1,000) for African Americans, and 0.6% (1 in 167) for Hispanics.
This systematic review will expose the tangible reality of a pathology that behaves
like an aggressive cancer, with which there is a daily routine of silent acceptance that
sometimes makes it less important, for this reason you will find a detail of the crucial
aspect of the pathophysiology, classification, treatment and follow-up of the patient
with Melanoma, from a predictive and updated perspective (2).
