Avances actualizados de la estrechez uretral en población infantil y adulta

La estrechez uretral, es un trastorno que afecta directamente el sistema genitourinario con un número establecido de manifestaciones clínicas, que acompañado de una adecuada anamnesis y enfoque permite un acertado diagnóstico. Si bien es cierto, se puede llegar a sospechar de esta patología únicamente con la anamnesis, es necesario la realización de múltiples pruebas paraclínicas para corroborar el diagnóstico, el lugar anatómico afectado y el grado de estenosis.
De esta manera se podrá definir una mejor terapia de tratamiento con base a los hallazgos encontrados (que parte de la uretra se ve afectada, que porcentaje de la luz compromete) y las características propias del paciente (antecedentes quirúrgicos genitourinarios, tolerabilidad de procedimiento quirúrgicos). Se hará particular énfasis en las líneas de tratamiento farmacológico y quirúrgico.
