Abstract

Botulinum toxin has had a fundamental role in the treatment of different medical conditions even
prior to its use as one of the main components of plastic and reconstructive medicine, as well as
its multiple dermatological applications.
We show how it has been implemented in different medical conditions such as pain management,
neurological, urological and ophthalmological conditions, as well as patient rehabilitation. We seek
to expose a broad panorama of management possibilities with botulinum toxin outside its leading
role in aesthetic medicine.
